The Hair Apparent

Local stylist Matthew Morris had never considered trying out for Bravo’s reality competition Shear Genius (season three premiers February 3, bravotv.com) until someone from the show contacted him. Promises of brilliant new challenges and notable judges proved tempting. Morris says, “I wanted to be a part of something that showcased real scenarios and showed the truly challenging nature of my profession.” He was pleased to find the network was not making false assurances. “When I was told the challenges would be good and the new guest judges would be great, I didn’t expect them to be so amazing and to have such close access to people I basically worship.” Morris wouldn’t even give us a clue as to the outcome of the show (we asked), but he did say he came away with at least one close friendship although, in some respects, the experience did not live up to expectations: “I did think I would have more free time and waaaaaaaaay better food.”
