Our Favorite Things: Max Martinez
Marc Piscotty
As the owner of three clothing boutiques bearing his name, Martinez has certainly established himself in the Denver fashion community. The MAX Holiday Fashion Show, which celebrates its 25th year this December, has not only become the venue for fashionistas eager to get a sneak peek at spring’s hottest looks, but has raised thousands for Volunteers of America and the Brandon Center.
Favorite way to unwind after work:
Walking or running in Washington Park, hanging out with my partner and my dog, Nikki
Favorite shopping district:
Cherry Creek North — there’s no place like it in Denver. All the great boutiques, art galleries, and salons can be found in one pedestrian-friendly area, and best of all, no chains!
Favorite place to take out-of-town guests:
Potager, Frasca, The Kitchen
Favorite thing about my job:
Making women look beautiful
Favorite local cause:
Dress for Success because they empower women to join or return to the workforce by providing professional attire
Favorite local designer:
Garden Girl by Laura Woodward
Favorite local jewelry designer:
Rask Fine Jewelry — my partner, Scott Seale, designs it, it sells like mad, and it has taken over the world!
Favorite local theater:
All the Landmark theaters: Mayan, Esquire, etc.
