A Home Away

Jim Hering and Ron Werner’s vacation home does not feature the mid-century modern style the Palm Springs area is known for. But then again, it existed prior to the middle of the century. Located in the Old Las Palmas section of town, the house was built in 1929 and is an example of California Spanish architecture. The city is known as a Hollywood hot spot, and the Old Las Palmas district has been home to a host of tinseltown royalty throughout the decades: Liberace, Bette Davis, Elizabeth Taylor, George Hamilton, Sidney Sheldon, Quincy Jones, Peter Lawford, Lily Tomlin, and more. The homes are gated, very private, and each quite different from the next.
