The Denver Post is reporting today that Governor Ritter’s son, August Ritter III, used the Colorado Governor’s Mansion for his 22nd birthday party. The tone of the article is sniffy, as if trying to create minor scandal out of the event by showing the gov’s son drinking beer straight from a keg and comparing the event to a “frat party.”

Of course, the kid is 22, and if your dad were the governor, where would you have the party? The Post, to its credit, points out that Li’l August was a responsible host, forbidding the presence of anyone underage, making sure no one drove home drunk, and banning vomiting and, quaintly, something called “sexy time.”

To be frank, we here at Denverism are a little disappointed that we never got an invitation.
