Roman Abramovich – whose recent job titles include Russian robber baron, owner of the UK’s famous Chelsea Football Club, and best bud to spooky Russian leader Vladimir Putin – has just purchased a home on Wildcat Ridge above Snowmass Village. The humble little ski shack, all 14,300 square feet of it, went for a cool $36.375 million.

While that may seem like a lot to us working stiffs, keep in mind that Abramovich is worth an estimated $23.5 billion. How did a 41-year-old guy amass such a fortune? Better you don’t ask.

So if you find yourself up Snowmass way, maybe you could stop by with a nice apple pie or fruit basket. However, if you find our new neighbor isn’t at home, don’t be surprised. Abramovich also owns homes in Moscow, London, and Austria.
