Celebrate 25 years of making wishes come true for Colorado children. Joan Mazak, President of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado, established the organization in 1983 after liver disease claimed the life of her seven year-old daughter, Jennifer. A few weeks before her death, Jennifer’s longtime dream to meet a popular radio mascot came true when the KIMN Chicken came to visit her. After seeing how the wish raised her daughter’s spirits, Joan founded the Colorado chapter of Make-A-Wish. Joan has held the position of President and CEO for 25 years—a rare and remarkable tenure in the non-profit sector. The anniversary gala will include silent and live auctions, dinner and dancing to Chris Daniels and the Kings.
