Denver Magazine January Issue

If your New Year’s resolution involves your health, read up. Our January edition has a medical focus and dives into the healthcare issues affecting our state, cutting-edge technologies, state-of-the-art facilities, and experts in the field. We explore the raging medical marijuana debate as the laws of the land meet the will of the populace. Looking for a new doctor? HealthGrades, the leading independent rating organization for medical professionals, offers recommendations, based on very specific criteria, across a variety of specialties. Our cover story reveals that Colorado is poised to be a major player on the forefront of the bioscience industry, bringing the latest research to bedsides in record time. This month’s “Savor” section takes an inside look at what food cravings mean, and three area chefs (and hard-core athletes) give you their secrets to fueling up. We also meet Klaus Obermeyer, who turned 90 last month. He’s living proof that staying active will take you a long way. There’s a lot of information to digest, but our January issue will keep you on track to improved health this year.
