Colorado's Dream Destination
A new LIFE book, Dream Destinations, has named Snowmass as one of The World's 100 Greatest Places to Vacation. The book, complete with gorgeous images of the locations, hit stores last week.
"In the Centennial State is Snowmass — the second largest ski area in the country, with the very highest vertical rise (4,406 feet), but at heart a gentle giant. It is in Aspen, yes, but it does not represent the Aspen you might think of. It is less about movie stars and more about a brilliantly star-filled night."

The Flobots
2008 is already shaping up to be one heck of a year for local hip-hop musicians The Flobots. Their unique blend of political rap and orchestral funk reminds us of an updated — and gentler — Rage Against The Machine, and has landed them on stage during July's Mile High Music Festival. At the end of March, the band signed with Universal Republic Records, who will be re-releasing their debut album, Fight With Tools, this Tuesday. Catch the band during their debut television performance this Monday night on Last Call with Carson Daly at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
