Sex and the City: Denver Style
By Dahlia Jean Weinstein
With all of the buzz surrounding Sex and the City last week, CW2 News anchorwoman Natalie Tysdal called Denver Magazine looking for an expert on SATC "Denver Style." I have always considered myself to be a SATC fanatic – and fashionista – so I was happy to advise television viewers where to go in Denver for the fabulous, price-is-no-object fashions featured in the film. I also suggested where to find styles similar to SATC characters Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte – without breaking the bank. The segment was a success thanks to the efforts of many talented folks, a few whom I forgot to thank on the air! Cherry Creek's The Look Beauty Boutique makeup artist Gina Comminello and hair stylist Tasha Valenti turned the models – and me – into glamorous versions of the fabulous SATC foursome. (If you want to pamper yourself like a Park Avenue princess, make an appointment with either one of these glamour gals – better yet, both of them – immediately: The Look, 303-322-4902.) I was dressed "Samantha-style," while local models captured the essence of each character: (Carrie) Lynsey Hudson/Maximum Talent; (Miranda) Monique Terrasas/Donna Baldwin Talent ; and (Charlotte) Natasha Brady/Donna Baldwin Talent. Clothes and accessories came from Pine Creek Clothing Co. on South Pearl Street, Neiman Marcus in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center and Andrisen Morton Women in Cherry Creek North, which also provided a "Carrie-esque" Vera Wang wedding gown from its bridal boutique. If you missed the live show on CW2, click here to see the complete Sex and the City: Denver Style segment.
