Olympic Retrospective
Award-winning photographer Rich Clarkson will kick off the 2008 Summer Olympics at Fascination St. Fine Art in Cherry Creek North this weekend. Clarkson will be previewing his Olympic and non-Olympic photographs. The former director of photography for National Geographic, Clarkson is celebrated for his unbelievable ability to capture an athlete in a personal, yet evocative, way.

Paralympic Posterity
Join fellow fans this Thursday in support of a local Olympic athlete, Matt Updike, who is headed to Beijing in September as a member of the U.S. Paralympic Handcycling team. Scruffy Murphy's Pub downtown is hosting a fundraiser for Updike and the rest of the team to help subsidize expenses for the trip.

Climbing for Kids
Denver Magazine joins IP5280, UMB Financial Corporation, Copper Conferencing and the Rocky Mountain Medical Group to sponsor Climbing For Kids. The nonprofit raises money for The Children's Hospital Foundation of Colorado, so the foundation can purchase books, art supplies and toys to help treat children with mental health issues. Employees and friends from the sponsorship companies will lead a climb to the top of 14,060-foot Mt. Bierstadt.
