Oktoberfest

Germans from all over the state are descending upon Denver for a two-part Oktoberfest celebration. The festival kicks off this Friday, so grab a stein, dress up in your finest Lederhosen and head down to Denver's Ballpark neighborhood.

One of the city's longest-running festivals and the largest of its kind in the nation, Denver's Oktoberfest is now in its 39th year. It's modeled after the real deal in Munich, Germany, and will offer everything from a beer garden, music, dance performances, children's activities and a 10K run, to a Green Village, accordion concert and authentic German cuisine.

Don't worry if you can't make it this weekend — they're going to do it all over again September 26 - 28!

Friday, September 19, 5 pm – 1 am
Saturday, September 20, 11 am – 1 am
Sunday, September 21, 11 am – 5 pm

Das Hustlehoff 10K & 5K

If you thought of David Hasselhoff when you read the name of this race, you were right.

Paying homage to one of Germany's (not ours) favorite pop stars and notorious drunk, this year's Oktoberfest celebration will include a 10K run and 5K run/walk. This is Denver, so even a celebration of beer and sausage has to have a fitness event, right?

The 10K is for the more serious runner, but the 5K is all about the "Hoff." Channel your inner Mitch Buchannon by sporting a red Speedo or don a Knight Rider–inspired get-up. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative costume, so come dressed to impress.

If you are ready to hustle in honor of the "Hoff," you must register by noon on September 19. Registration is available at all Runner's Roost locations or online.

Sunday, September 21, 9 am

Registration: $35
