Denver FIVE Delectable Dinner & Demonstration

The Denver FIVE is returning to New York City this spring to the renowned James Beard House to participate in a dinner event highlighting our city's world-class culinary scene. This all-star chef boys' club of sorts will showcase its talents to an exclusive audience on a national stage. In preparation for its Big Apple debut, the FIVE will share the excitement with its hometown during a five-course preview dinner at Roth Distributing Co. A hundred percent of event proceeds will directly benefit a Johnson & Wales University student through a scholarship fund created in honor of beloved Denver restaurateur Doug Fleischman.

The Grand Champion Steer at The Brown Palace

If you haven't had a chance to check out any of the National Western Stock Show Events, go no further than The Brown Palace Hotel. It's bringing livestock straight to the lobby, where the 2009 Grand Champion Steer will strut his stuff down a red carpet and stay on display throughout the hotel's traditional afternoon tea. Rodeo royalty will also be on hand for complimentary autographs and photos.

Hearts of All Ages

This year, turn Valentine's Day into a family tradition and celebrate at the 2nd Annual "Hearts of All Ages" event. Governor Bill Ritter, Mayor John Hickenlooper and Aurora Mayor Ed Tauer will act as honorary chairs. Guests sporting a hint of red will enjoy an evening complete with kid-friendly fare from Epicurean Catering, live music from Big Bang, face painters and caricature artists, behind-the-scenes tours of Invesco Field and a live auction hosted by CBS 4's Ed Greene. Up for bid is a "Broncos Experience," including a birthday party for 25 guests with Thunder, four Broncos box tickets and a football signed by Jay Cutler, and an "Avalanche Experience," including a suite with tickets for 16 guests at an Avalanche home game and a jersey signed by Joe Sakic.

All proceeds from ticket sales and auction items will directly benefit the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Colorado Hospital.

Adult tickets: $150; kids under 12: $50

"Wine Down Wednesdays" at The Wine Loft

Take the edge off hump day this week at Denver's newest wine bar. Tucked away on a quiet block of LoDo, The Wine Loft is an oasis for those who savor the grape. Drink from a selection of more than 65 wines by the glass or from the 90 bottles on the list. There's also a small-plate menu, a beer list and a full bar for the non-wino. Every Wednesday, there is a complimentary wine-tasting with a celebrated winemaker who will share his insight and answer your questions.

Bon Appétit Culinary & Wine Focus

Beaver Creek Resort has teamed up with Bon Appétit magazine for the 11th-annual Culinary & Wine Focus. This year, the festival turns to the flavors and flair of Brazil and Argentina to inspire the acclaimed participating chefs and guests. Throughout the festival, international and local chefs will participate in the MasterChef Challenge, signature Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Ski Race, cooking classes, wine seminars, and a live concert by Mary Wilson of the Supremes.
