Denver Magazine March Issue

This month, Denver Magazine is all about the home. We look at the design process behind a beautiful home in Evergreen. We visit the Kirkland Museum, which is overflowing with some of the finest decorative arts, from furniture to tableware, in the country. We ask style icons to open their closet doors and peek in the pantry of a pair of top chefs. If you are looking for fun new home items, we have lots to choose from, and our pages are filled out with interesting stories from travel to ballet to baseball.

Ansel Adams and Bob Kolbrener Exhibition at Michele Mosko Fine Art

Two photography icons and masters of the American West will adorn the walls of Michele Mosko Fine Art. This traveling exhibition will showcase select photographs from Ansel Adams and Bob Kolbrener. Ansel Adams is known for his images of Yosemite National Park and the Great American West dating back to 1916. Kolbrener's visit to the Ansel Adams Gallery in 1968 was a turning point in the then young photographer's career. He soon became a recognized talent and teacher alongside Adams at his prestigious Yosemite workshops. Michele Mosko Fine Art will devoted its entire space to early vintage prints by Adams, dating as far back as 1929, as well as contemporary works by Kolbrener.

Signed photographs are for sale, priced from $400 to $30,000, and vary in scale from 8"x10" vintage prints by Adams to monumental, mural-sized works measuring 50"x60" by Kolbrener.

Exhibition begins Friday March 6 and runs through April 12

Gallery reception honoring Kolbrener: Friday, March 27, 5 – 8:30 pm

Artist talk: Saturday, March 28, 2 – 4 pm

The Women's Crisis & Family Outreach Center 9th Annual Empty Bowl 2009

Along the front range of Colorado, the number one crime (other than traffic offenses) continues to be domestic violence. Over the past few years, 14 out of 17 homicides have been a result of domestic violence. Inspired by the notion that each victim leaves an "empty bowl" at the dinner table, the Women's Crisis & Family Outreach Center hosts an annual event to raise awareness about domestic violence and find solutions to this increasing problem. More than 1,000 guests will gather in support by filling handmade bowls from local potters and enjoying dinner and a silent auction.
