2009 Jack Vickers Invitational Auction
This is your opportunity to be a part of one of the most exclusive golf tournaments of the year: the 2009 Jack Vickers Invitational at Castle Pines Golf Club. This three-day golf event benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and is hosted by John Elway and Jack Vickers. Leading up to the tournament, Denver Magazine is hosting an online auction in conjunction with the Jack Vickers Invitational to give you a chance to bid on four amazing items, including a luxury getaway in Cabo San Lucas or a golf trip for two to Pebble Beach. If you are the highest online bidder for any of the four items, you (and a guest) will receive an invitation to join Elway and Vickers, and all tournament participants, for a special evening of fine dining and entertainment at Cielo at Castle Pines. The final auction will take place at the Jack Vickers Invitational Welcome Dinner Wednesday, May 13. Online bidding closes Friday, May 8, 2009, at 5 pm. 13th Annual Project PAVE "“ Janus Foundation Scholarship Luncheon
For the past 13 years, the Janus Foundation and Project PAVE have partnered to award scholarships to graduating seniors who have risen above violence and abuse to pursue their dreams of a college education. Jeannie Ritter, a Project PAVE supporter and board member, will speak at the event. Governor Ritter served as chairman of the Project PAVE board of directors for 12 years and has a long history of involvement with the agency. Project PAVE is a nonprofit organization that provides services to children and families who have experienced relationship violence. Ebony Fashion Fair
Fabulous meets fierce at the 51st Annual Ebony Fashion Fair, one of the largest traveling fashion shows of its kind: “The Runway Report: What’s Hip. What’s Hot. What’s Now.” The event will show Denver’s urban fashionistas the latest trends and unveil the designs of some of the world’s leading fashion houses. A bevy of alluring models will work the runway in fashions from Christian Lacroix, Sarli, B Michael, Carolina Herrera, Ruben Singer, and Jean-Louis Scherrer. A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated to area charities, and each ticket purchase includes a copy of Ebony Fashion Fair magazine and a choice of a one-year subscription to Ebony magazine or a six-month subscription to JET magazine. Container Store, Broomfield Grand Opening

Third Annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge
EddyFlower has teamed once again with First Descents for the Third Annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge, which runs for one month on rivers throughout the United States and Canada. Created as a fundraiser to aid the fight against cancer by garnering donations for First Descents, a Colorado-based charity organization that focuses on young adults with cancer, the event inspires paddlers of all kinds to paddle as many river runs as they can endure over the 32-day period for pledged donations. The Annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge is open to all paddlers (kayakers, rafters, canoers, and riverboarders) from all states and of all skill levels. Teams of up to five people can register online to compete in one of six divisions (open, class V, class IV, class III, weekend warrior, and women’s) that best match your team’s skill level. Titanic: Treasures from the Deep

Titanic: Treasures from the Deep, a new mobile museum featuring artifacts recovered from the wreck site of the legendary Titanic, tells the personal stories of its passengers in a setting unlike anything seen before.
