Children’s Diabetes Foundation High Hopes Tribute Dinner
Help support the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes at the annual High Hopes Tribute Dinner. The center currently cares for more than 5,000 children and young adults with diabetes, and nearly 75 percent are from the Rocky Mountain region. Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Earth, Wind & Fire will be among the exciting list of performers during an evening of dinner and dancing. This year’s honoree is Arlene Hirschfeld, a dedicated community volunteer whose leadership and contributions to countless causes have been of extraordinary benefit to our medical community.

Prader-Willi Syndrome Association Benefit Dinner Honoring Clint Hurdle
Ever since his daughter, Madison, was diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome at age seven, Clint Hurdle has lent his support to this cause. Join the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association for a dinner at Coors Field honoring Hurdle and to raise funds for the organization. The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association promotes and funds research, providing education and support to those affected by a genetic condition causing a chronic feeling that leads to excessive eating and life-threatening obesity, low muscle tone, possible cognitive and behavioral issues, and incomplete sexual development.

South Platte Riversweep
We all know the Platte needs a little TLC, especially now that summer is over. Donate your time to help clean Denver’s main river at the Annual South Platte River Sweep. The City of Denver and the Greenway Foundation have collaborated on this 15-mile, multijurisdictional cleanup for more than 15 years.
The event also celebrates National Public Lands Day and is open to individuals, companies, schools, clubs, and neighborhood groups. The Greenway Foundation is committed to overseeing and supporting a diverse array of programs and enhancements along Metro Denver’s waterways. A free volunteer luncheon follows the event at Fishback Landing Park (between REI and the Downtown Aquarium) on Water Street.

Homelessness is no laughing matter, but laughing to raise funds for a great cause is a different story. New Genesis is bringing together three of the top comedians from Chelsea Handler’s Roundtable: Heather McDonald, Jen Kirkman, and Brad Wollack for a night of hilarity to end homelessness. New Genesis is a community of recovery that recognizes homelessness as a temporary situation, not a personal weakness. New Genesis promotes an optimistic and enthusiastic environment and guides its residents towards realization of their emotional and practical goals.

The Wildlife Experience Boa Ball
The Wildlife Experience will transform into “A Worldly Affair” at this year’s annual Boa ball. The evening is not to be missed with roaming entertainment, global libations, and worldly cuisine.
