Brown Palace’s Champagne Cascade

The year was 1959. Bob Howsom and Lamar Hunt decided to meet for the first time in the lobby of The Brown Palace to discuss the new football league that Hunt was forming. It was there that Howsom agreed to own the Denver franchise in what would become the American Football League. This Sunday, guests will gather in the place where it all began for the 22nd Champagne Cascade to honor the Broncos 50th Anniversary. Champagne will be poured into the uppermost tier of an elaborate 6,000-glass pyramid rising nearly two stories in the hotel’s atrium lobby. Appearances will be made by Denver Broncos alumni and Miles the mascot, and guests can have complimentary photos taken in front of the cascade with Denver Broncos cheerleaders.

Free admission (floors 4 – 7), and reservations are not required to view the event.

VIP tickets: $50 (includes premier viewing of the event and unlimited Champagne, beer & wine, and hors d’oeuvres — all proceeds going directly toward supporting the Denver Rescue Mission, a Denver Broncos nonprofit beneficiary.)
